There are heroes for the homeless all around us and we are so grateful for their support of Joshua’s House Hospice!

One of those heroes, Kevin Ingraham, a housing consultant with Factory Expo Homes/Fleetwood Homes, has spent hundreds of hours educating us about manufactured homes and the possibility of using them to create a village for Joshua’s House Hospice. He showed us how we could do this at a reasonable cost without losing safety and comfort for the residents, while enhancing a neighborhood with their beautiful design.

Factory Expo Homes is independently owned and operated and was founded in 1999. They are headquartered in Chandler, AZ and have retail locations in 14 states. They ship homes to 37 of the 50 states. Factory Expo Homes represents most of the major manufacturers, including but not limited to Cavco, Skyline, Champion, and Fleetwood. Their factory-direct business model and value-based pricing provides quality, well-built homes that are affordable and comfortable. Each home is regularly inspected during every phase of the construction process. You can visit them on the web at: for more information.

Fleetwood Homes is one of the lines of manufactured homes built by Factory Expo Homes and this is the line that our Founder/CEO Marlene von Friederichs-Fitzwater focused on. She worked closely with Kevin to make design decisions and then shared those designs with our Board of Directors and our Community Advisory Committee to make final plans. It was decided at their May meeting to approve the designs and to order four of the manufactured units – each unit has three bedrooms, a bath, kitchen and living area. The outside colors will be a light brown with white shutters and trim.

Kevin has ensured that the homes will be ADA-compliant, and we upgraded the flooring inside the units for sanitary and endurance reasons. He worked diligently to keep costs as low as possible while maintaining high quality.

A local site designer has provided a site design based on a sample lot size that will provide lots of shaded areas, garden space, parking and required driveways for fire trucks and ambulances. The property will be secure with adequate outdoor space for gardens and places for residents to sit.

While the units will take several months to produce, we will use that time to secure property and complete the necessary landscaping, foundations, utility and sewer connections, etc. Thank you to our Hero for the Homeless, Kevin Ingraham!
