Exciting News: Launch of a new fundraiser with 100% of proceeds going to Joshua’s House
Not long ago we introduced you to local musician, Danny Schneider, and his new project to benefit Joshua’s House Hospice. We feel so fortunate to be a part of it and to now, officially announce the launch with him!
Starting today, you can order a limited edition (only 100), signed copy of Danny’s new vinyl EP, “On the Other Side of the Window,” for just a $100 donation to Joshua’s House. The album includes 9 new original songs and the namesake cut, “On the Other Side of the Window,” was inspired by Danny’s first-hand exposure to a homeless mother and daughter seeking shelter from the rain. We cannot be more honored that Danny has chosen to use his incredible musical talents to help us! This is a critical time for Joshua’s House as we are so close to the begin of construction but still in need of funds to cover an increase in costs. We will receive 100% of the proceeds from album orders/donations. Order/Donate here: https://dannyschneider.com/
The Musician and the Music
Danny grew up in South Sacramento, attended Elk Grove High School, and then graduated from Sac State. In his early 20’s he moved to Los Angeles, and though he was a constant making a name for himself within the music scene there, creating and performing at many well-known music venues (Roxy, Troubadour, just to name a couple), and hosting a cable program “The Danny Schneider Show of Music”, where he interviewed a variety of music industry professionals (songwriters, producers, etc.), his day job was that of high school English teacher. He taught in Glendale for 20 years then later returned to the Sacramento area in 2011 – he now resides in Folsom with his wife, Cindy.
His interest in Joshua’s House was sparked when he saw a news piece about our organization and our founder & CEO, Marlene von Friederichs-Fitzwater. Her compelling story of grandson, Joshua Lee, who died homeless in 2014 and her commitment to honoring him with a place for the terminally ill homeless to receive care and comfort in their last days, struck a “chord” with Danny. He’d wanted to do something at the time he came across the mother & daughter previously mentioned, but he didn’t know what. When he heard about Joshua’s House it all just came together. And it’s not just his desire to help, he’s hopeful that others will be inspired to find ways to give.
How to Order
Danny describes his music as Light Rock, and he can be found on Spotify and other internet hubs. He was recently featured in Family Beautiful Magazine online at https://familybeautiful.com/danny-schneider-dignity-and-the-arts. And he has set up a special website to provide more information, music samples from the new album, and to order your vinyl EP copy by donation. Simply go to http://dannyschneider.com/, make payment, and he’ll ship the album free of charge to you by August 31st. And, as an added benefit of supporting this fundraiser Danny will put on a special performance for donors (details are to be determined due to COVID-19 restrictions).
It’s a Win-Win for All!
We invite you to join us by donating and receiving Danny’s special edition EP. Not only will you support Joshua’s House Hospice, but you’ll enjoy some really great music. And who knows, this great album may become a collector’s item!
