Our Mission – to end the tragic history of vulnerable unhoused people dying on the streets of Sacramento by providing hospice/supportive comfort for, and restoring the dignity of, terminally ill homeless men and women.
Joshua’s House will be located in approximately 11,000 sq. ft. of an existing building in Sacramento. This location was selected because it is near other services for homeless individuals such as Mustard Seed School for homeless children, an indoor pet kennel, a free vet clinic, a beautiful new Friendship Park and many other resources.
Joshua’s House will be located on one floor and include the following amenities:
Five focus groups with 28 homeless individuals found that it was important to bring nature inside with greenery walls, water features, a lot of natural light, an atrium and colors like greens, blues, yellows as depicted in the architectural plans and 3-D renderings created by Flex Architecture of Sacramento.
The campaign kicked off April 19th 2017 with a reception that included Congresswoman Doris Matsui, Mayor Darrell Steinberg, and City Council Member Jeff Harris.
THE GOAL OF THE JOSHUA’S HOUSE CAPITAL CAMPAIGN IS TO RAISE $3.5 MILLION BY THE END OF 2019.
